Services for Professional Carpet CleanersIn 1999 The WoolSafe Organisation launched an accreditation scheme for professional carpet cleaning companies, called the WoolSafe Certified Operators programme, to counter unqualified cleaners who give the carpet cleaning industry a bad name. Independent carpet cleaners, franchisees and in-house carpet cleaning contractors can become WoolSafe Certified Operators (see How Do I become an Approved Company). The WoolSafe Certified Operator programme is currently operational in Great Britain, Ireland, The United States of America, Australia, Greece and Germany. WoolSafe - Approved Carpet Care ProductsWoolSafe has run a certification programme for carpet maintenance products suitable for carpets and rugs made from wool and other natural and quality man-made fibres since 1991. In 2007 a new green certification was introduced for environmentally responsible cleaning products.
Products are independently tested to WoolSafe Standard WS 1001 and those that meet the performance requirements are issued with a Certificate. The Manufacturers, our Chemical Licensees, are entitled to display the WoolSafe Certification Mark* on packaging, product literature and advertising material related to the product. * Please note this is a Registered Trade Mark for use by the Manufacturers only. Use of the WoolSafe Marks for Advertising or Promotional Purposes
The WoolSafe Certified Operator Mark is a certification mark, owned by The WoolSafe Organisation. This Mark and the WoolSafe name can be used ONLY by The WoolSafe Organisation and by accredited carpet and upholstery cleaning companies who are ACTIVE members of the WoolSafe Certified Operator Network to advertise and/or promote carpet and upholstery cleaning and maintenance services.
The WoolSafe Mark which is associated with approved chemical products is for use by the Manufacturers and suppliers of the products on their packaging and advertising materials. Carpet and upholstery cleaning companies can promote the fact that they use WoolSafe -approved products, if that is the case, to advertise their cleaning and maintenance services on leaflets, advertisements, websites, letterheads or any other method of promotion or advertising. However the Mark CANNOT be used by these companies. Also, unless they are WoolSafe Accredited Cleaning Companies, they cannot claim to be WoolSafe Approved cleaners. Misuse of the WoolSafe Mark, the WoolSafe Certified Operator Mark, or the WoolSafe name is in breach of the Trade Marks Act of 1994 of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and The WoolSafe Organisation will contest wrongful or unauthorised use through Trading Standards Services and, if necessary, through the Courts. |
